Vermont Microdrilling started life in 1963 under the name Vermont Mold & Tool (parent company). We were a job shop in a small northern Vermont town providing jobs to local townspeople. Over the next 20 years it grew to serve into a diversified range of industries, from automotive to plastics, to cameras. The original employees were toolmakers from the old school, going through 8000 hour apprenticeships to achieve their toolmakers cards.
In the early 1980's we were asked if we could drill small holes for computer probe cards. Even though we had no computerized equipment, our toolmakers rose to the challenge of manually drilling hundreds of tight tolerance holes. That knowledge and experience lives on today.

Vermont Microdrilling was born as a separate division, dedicated to small hole drilling. With highly customized CNC machinery working to exacting tolerances, we drill holes as small as 38 microns in diameter with a pitch of 51 microns.
Our philosophy today is the same as it was then, take on all challenges, apply our experience, know-how and equipment to exceed the customers requirements.
Our parent company, Vermont Mold & Tool specializes in close tolerance, high quality surface finish machined parts operating in a variety of industries, including; test equipment, automotive, aerospace, consumer and firearms. They offer machining from one-of-a-kind prototypes, to small batches of prototype castings, to product runs of several thousand. All having close tolerances, superior surface finishes exceeding customer requirements.
